Today’s featured corn product is something I ate almost every day. It filled in the gaps in my lunchbox. Leftovers + banana + yogurt. That is lunch.
Since then I have tried other luncheon combinations with varied success. Leftovers + leftovers was a bit bland. Leftovers + banana + banana is good, but it just seems like a bit too much banana. Tuna sandwich + banana + grapes worked well. I still miss my yogurt.
One day we will meet again.
So far the lenten resolution is a success. There have been times when I was not sure about one food or another. I tend to be nice to myself in these situations. There have been plenty of times when my resolution has been quite inconvenient. Did you know that popcorn counts as a form of corn? When I started this I did not know that I was giving up movies.
Isaac has been talking a lot lately. It seems like every day I hear new words. His pronounciation is still a little poor, but that is expected. He knows that “outside” means playing outdoors and “walk” specifically means running down the sidewalk. “Mitten” and “hat” are words closely associated with “outside”, but that doesn’t mean that they stay on. “Cereal” is often proclaimed at breakfast time and “ham” and “pizza” are favorites for supper. For a while “cookie” was used to refer to both cookies and crackers, but lately there has been a split. “Craokie” refers to crackers while “cookie” still refers to cookies. I will not attempt to name all of his toys, but he has words for many of them.
“Poppy” is a word that I am excited about. It loosly translates to potty. He has yet to use the potty, but he is showing signs of being ready.

You could always try plain yogurt and add your own fruit.
Old Home’s vanilla yogurt in a black tub is sweetened with sugar…And I’m pretty sure Stonyfield Farm’s yogurt doesn’t have corn syrup, either.
